A day at the office - from an interns point of view

I finally made it in to the office around 9:30. I was fortunate to take the later train this morning. Commuting can be a hassle but it is all part of the experience. My mother is my boss (has its advantages and disadvantages). I'm sure many of you are like "I would LOVE my mother to be my boss" and some are like "OH MY GOODNESS NO! never in a million years will my mother be my boss"... Well I'm right in the middle of those opinions. I love that she's my boss because it definitely helps me to learn the ropes a lot easier. I'm not afraid of her or messing up (which is a possibility if this is your first time interning). But then sometimes I hate it... she bosses me around just like she would at home. I know its her job but she does it differently with me.

I stop by the Cafe next door for my morning iced tea and my mothers Iced Coffee. Then up the elevator and I'm greeted by our lovely receptionist with a warm smile and hello. I sit in our office just blocks from Times Square. It's a chic space with very modern decor. Our offices are located in the show room. Although I just sit at the table in the middle of the collection. My mother gives me work to do shortly after breakfast, "Gewls, update the contact list..." or "gewls, clean out the storage room" or "gewls, call people from the show to make show room appointments!" I love my interning position at Mosaicon. Currently they carry the brands Francesco Biasia, Mandarina Duck (luggage) and Aglini (ready to wear). And again, for those of you familiar with Francesco Biasia, yes! They are back in the states! The collection looks great (I want to snag a few bags for myself!) and has had a VERY positive reaction upon its return. Look out fashion world! Biasia is back!

Finally, 5:50 rolls around and I have to run to Penn Station to catch my 6:20 train! My days definitely have kept me on my toes for the last few weeks of summer vacation (a vacation that ended all too quickly, even though I've been off for 3 months). School is barreling around the corner, move-in is Sept. 3rd. I can't believe Sophomore year is beginning.. and before I know it, summer will make its appearance yet again.
